Nour Chanouha
Nour Chanouha is a first-generation immigrant from Lebanon who joined the Iowa City community in 2022. From an early age, Nour has been committed to community service and social responsibility. While living in Lebanon, she volunteered with organizations serving refugee and displaced populations, helping support individuals and families facing significant social and economic challenges. These experiences strengthened her commitment to promoting dignity, inclusion, and equitable opportunities for newcomers.
As a board member, Nour brings valuable skills in community engagement, cross-cultural communication, and advocacy. Her personal experience as an immigrant provides important insight into the challenges newcomers face when navigating unfamiliar institutions, accessing services, and building a sense of belonging in a new community.
