Board of Directors

Will Kapp serves as the Board President for Immigrant Welcome Network of Johnson County. Will grew up in Iowa City and graduated from City High in 2004. Through his time as a teacher in the Iowa City Schools and program manager for Global Food Project, Will has seen firsthand the benefits this community has for immigrant families and the benefits they bring to the existing community. Will sees the Immigrant Welcome Network of Johnson County as a way to continue to help Iowa City be the strong, resilient, vibrant community it wants to be by welcoming newly arrived immigrant families. His experience working closely with families from all over the world who are working to make Johnson County home helps him to understand that there is not one immigrant experience, but many, and it is important to have a flexible, adaptable, and respectful organization to do the work of situating and establishing families in our community.
